Overview
Tharpu Chuli Peak is also known as Tent Peak due its resembling appearance. It is one of the famous trekking peaks in Himalaya range of Nepal. The peak lies in the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary and is relatively more accessible than both Hiunchuli and Singuu Chuli peaks which are also the part of trekking peaks of the Anapurna. Covered in giant ice and snow, Tharpu Chuli looks simply mesmerizing from the ridge line between Singu Chuli and Tharpu Chuli. The highest point of Tharpu Chuli is at 5695 meters and is an very pleasant climb even for less experience climbers. The summit of Tharpu Chuli offers unobstructed views of entire Annapurna Sanctuary along with astonishing glacial moraines bounding the region. The traditional or commercial route for climbing is via the North-west ridge but successful attempts has been made through South-east ridge too. The top of Tharpu Chuli peak offers peek in to the various mountain range like Machhapuchre, Annapurna (I, II, III and IV), Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Khansar Kang, Baraha Sikhar and Tarke Kang. The experience is truly bewildering with loads of unforeseen vistas.
The trek begins from Kathmandu valley passing through beautiful iconic places like Ghandruk, Chhomrong, Deurali and Machhapuchre Base Camp. From Machhapuchre Base Camp, we hike to the high camp at 5200 meters and begin the ascent. The trek offers some interesting opportunities to visit beautiful societies and vivid landscapes.
